So you found a pony - now what? Whats this site really about? Who the heck is Ginger anyway? Whats the deal with the member's section? Why aren't you naked; isn't this a fetish site? And other perfectly understandable questions.
ma·nège - noun - an arena or enclosed area in which horses and riders are trained.
Pony Play can be a fetish and is commonly considered kinky. I do cover Sex and Intimacy in one of the Resource sections. Most of the content on this site stays PG-rated though due to hosting rules. The service provider that hosts the site doesn't allow x-rated content, nudity, etc. For that you should visit Fetlife. See the Contact link for more information. Pony Play, at its most basic, is just adult-pretend and is not necessarily sexual. Think horse cosplay.
Im an established Pony Player and educator who founded The Manège and funds/organizes all the events. While I do teach classes, I prefer to facillitate conversation between virtual herd members far and wide. I am a Leather pony, member of a leather family, webslave for The Leather Quilt, and co-founder of MyLeatherLife.com
Ginger discovered pony play probably 15 years ago when seeing a picture of a woman wearing a head harness. She fell in love with the ears first. The play came later.
We respect sex workers, but we are not involved with sex work. This is purely a PG hobbyist website.
No. It is free to sign up and your email is safe with me (I don't sell personal data). Membership is optional but designed to be behind an access wall with the idea that only real pony fans will sign up so I can be more open and generous with information than on an open-access website that is easily crawled.
Haha, no, you're not. Lots of people from many walks of life enjoy pony play and for many different reasons. Ginger herself am an engineer by day and a pony by night. You can be into pony play and not be the chick off My Strange Addiction.
The best way to meet others is via the Groups section under Resources. Find a group in your area and attend a munch. No group or cant find other ponies? You're not alone! Try attending a play party and wear a bit gag or head harness; it will help others start a conversation with you and you'll be surprised how many people are into pony play! Everyone loves a pony!
Meeting a pony or Handler partner can be challenging for most. The trick isn't to look for just established players, rather find people who are interested in trying it with you. People are usually surprised how much fun pony play is and how much they enjoy it once they try it.
Honestly, I think pony play can be intimidating to get into. A lot of people dont know what to do with a pony so it takes time and effort to figure out what sort of scenes or interactions work for you. I think people also think they need to know all the equestrian terms and such. This just isnt the case! Pony play is play! You can choose to learn all the terminology and different events based upon bio-horse jargon, but this is optional and other pony players will not look down on you for not knowing these things. Pony play is what you want it to be, so dont get bogged down by the "formalities."
Also, pony play can at first be expensive. The number one mistake pony players make starting out is thinking they need all the gear. You can get by with a bit of rope or nothing at all, you don't have to have all the gear. But the gear is fun!
